About Active Care
ActiveCare family physicians are members of a Family Health Organization (FHO) which allows our enrolled patients access to Telephone Health Advisory Service (THAS).
This service is available to FHO patients when our clinic is not open. You will be connected to a nurse who will ask a series of questions to assess your health concerns and be provided with health care advice so that you can manage your care at home or be advised to see your doctor or nurse practitioner within a few days.
In some cases, the nurse will contact an on-call doctor to discuss your symptoms and determine the most appropriate course of action, or the nurse may advise you to go to the nearest emergency department. With your consent, the nurse will send information to your health care provider about your call to the T.H.A.S. THAS can be reached at 1-866-553-7205.
Established in the west end of Ottawa, ActiveCare has been serving the community since 2002 and now covers the greater part of the city and continues to grow. We believe that the best care comes from seeing your own family doctor however when this is not an option we strive to provide care for patients through our afterhours FHO and walk-in clinics.
